It is important because, Mohamed Gento Kamara is a household name in Freetown. He is a successful businessman and a senior executive member of the prestigious East End Lions Football Club.
In his declaration of intent, Mohamed Gento Kamara promised to fix the broken social services in the Freetown Municipality. He intends to contest under the banner of the ruling Sierra Leoneโs Peoples Party. If Gento gets the SLPP party symbol to contest for the post of Mayor of Freetown City Council, the election will be a two-horse race between him and whoever the APC decides to stand up as their Mayoral candidate in June 2023.
Given the appalling performance of the current Mayor of Freetown and the allegations of jumbo corruption hanging over her head, it is highly likely that Gento will emerge as the next Mayor of the Freetown Municipality.
As a businessman, Gento will change the face of Freetown and make its residents happy again. He is a young man with a Tiger heart. He does big things! He is very popular with young people in the Freetown Municipality. Many people now see Gento as the Mayor-In-Waiting of the Freetown City Council.
