He further reminds her that FGM as part of their tradition that must be accepted by everyone and that her family members including her mother have participated on its dispensation.
Because of the surrounding circumstances Fatmata is presently on the run trying to save her life. According to information reaching this medium, stakeholders from Kono District in the Eastern Province of the country have dispersed youths to go in search of her questioning and forceful initiation. According to Fatmata her brother Sheku Abu Mansaray escapes with her from Kono District to evade death. Sheku who was forcefully initiated into the Poro Society but stoutly against such tradition is also presently on the run because the Chiefdom people see his action of helping Fatmata escaped a violation of their tradition and want to subject him to cruel punishment that he can hardly survived.
FGM has always been a vice in Sierra Leone many precious souls have successive governments have failed to abolish it First Lady Fatima Bio in a radio interview in Freetown said she is a circumcised woman so cannot campaign for the abolition of the practice.
