The High Court of Sierra Leone presided over by Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens has convicted and sentenced three male convicts Chernor Jalloh, Yomie Strasser King, Abdul Kargbo to forty years jail term each.

The convicts, alias Fullah Boy, Sharkor and Jordan who are at their prime youthful age, were found guilty on two counts indictment of conspiracy and robbery with aggravation; and each convict to serve twenty year imprisonment on each counts, totaling (40) years each.

On the remaining two counts related robbery with aggravation indictment, the convicts were not found guilty and were accordingly acquitted and discharged by the trial Judge, Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens.

Particulars in the State indictment state that the now convicts on the 23rd May, 2022 in Freetown conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation.

On count two of robbery with aggravation, the convicts on the same date in Freetown, being armed with knives robbed Mariama Turay of certain items valued to the total sum of Eleven Million two hundred and fifty thousand Old Leones; and also robbed Bintu Turay of properties valued to a total sum of four Million seven hundred thousand old Leones.

The then accused persons first made appearance at the High Court holding in Freetown, main Law Court Building Siaka Stevens Street, on the 20th September 2022 at the High Court Criminal Session.

The convicts were tried on committal warrant signed by a Magistrate, after the conduct of a Preliminary Investigation (PI) from Magistrate Court. They were since their arrest and throughout the PI hearing denied bail.

State Counsel from the Law Officers Department prosecuted the convicts on behalf of the State. The convicts to serve their jail term at the Pademba Road Male Maximum Correctional Centre in Freetown.
