The Inspector General of police William Fayia Sellu has written an official letter to the Speaker of Parliament Dr. Abass Bundu through the Clark of parliament Hon Paran Tarawally to hand over three serving members of parliament to the police for questioning due to the 23rd November 2022 riot in the House of Parliament.
According to the Clark of parliament Hon Paran Tarawally, he said โ€œfrom eyewitnesses, coupled with official Parliamentary footages captured by our CCTV cameras, cameramen and ICT Department, the following persons are considered perpetrators of the November 23″ attack on the Chamber of Parliament:
(a) Hon. Aaron Aruna Koroma Constituency 048
(b) Hon. Lahal Marah Constituency 042
(c) Hon. Abdul Karim Koroma Constituency D59
(d)The Driver of Hon. Kelie of Lungi
Invitations have already been issued for the said perpetrators to be interviewed by the Police. The Inspector General of Police has requested the Hon Speaker, through my office to release the above listed MPs for investigationโ€.
The Clark of parliament further said, โ€œThe Criminal Investigation Department has visited Parliament and compiled inventory of properties destroyed during the 23 November attack to the tune of Le 380 million old noteโ€.
Meanwhile, according to police source, four people have been arrested detained by the CID, including one MP and three drivers for 23 November riot.
