The application for an enlargement of time into the lower level elections of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) has been adjourned on notice to be served for ruling.
The Transitional Interim Management Committee (TIMC) Chairman, Lawyer Ibrahim Sorie in charge of the conduct of the APC lower level elections sought for an extension of time before the mandate of the Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) expires on the 19th January 2023.
High Court Judge, Justice Adrian Fisher is looking into the application for ruling of time enlargement or not.
Lawyer Jessie Munda Jengo, on behalf of ITGC Chairman, Mr. Alfred Peter Conteh said, he had no objection to the application for enlargement of time, but has problem with the affidavit of Honorable Abdul Kargbo, Secretary to the ITGC.
Lawyer Adekunlay Showers informed the court that on the 16th January 2023, a letter of urgency written by the TIMC Chairman for an extension of time was sent to ITGC for the attention to the Court.
The letter, according to a document read by Mr. Showers, in response to Mr. Alfred Peter Conteh’s representative, “Is a trash”. And on the 18th January 2023, Mr. Alfred Peter Conteh responded to the letter, thereby slating a meeting for the 23rd January 2023, knowing fully well that their mandate expired on the 19th January 2023.
