As the general elections draw closer, hundreds of Freetowneans residing around Hill Station and beyond have thrown their fullest support behind the SLPP Mayoral candidate, Mr. Mohamed Gento Kamara.
A group known as ‘Hillside Green Network’ on Friday 9th June, 2023, converged in huge numbers at a popular place called ‘Old Skul’ where they had a meeting with the SLPP Freetown Mayoral candidate, thereby assuring him of a landslide victory, come June 24th.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mohamed Gento Kamara said, he joined politics to rescue the people of Freetown particularly those that are suffering for things they deserve to get. He said the people deserve to enjoy a clean city with befitting public toilets and clean water facilities. “I came into politics to make sure that all of these are addressed…Some of us that love this country need to step in and fix the problem in the city,” the SLPP Freetown Mayoral candidate noted.
Mr. Gento Kamara who further expressed confidence of winning the Mayoral election in Freetown stressed that it is very possible that he will solve the water, toilet crisis and make the city clean. He said Freetown belongs to everyone, and for that simple reason, we should see each other as one for the sake of moving the country forward. He concluded by reminding his supporters that, President Julius Maada Bio’s vote is very important and they should vote for him massively.
The organizers and leaders of the group are the Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, Mr. Solomon Jamiru and the Press Attachรฉ to the Embassy in Washington, Pel Koroma. They said the people in that part of Freetown have cried to meet face- to- face with the SLPP Freetown Mayoral candidate, Mr. Mohamed Gento Kamara. They both described Gento Kamara as a very peaceful man and an angel sent by God to redeem the people of Freetown. “We particularly formed the Hillside Green Network in a bid to re-elect President Julius Maada Bio and also make sure that allย SLPP candidates get victory in June 24th general elections.
