The son of the late Sullay Hijazi (a prominent football and sports promoter, a diamond magnate and philanthropist of Kono district) is following in his father’s footsteps by contesting to become the President of the Sierra Leone Basketball Federation.
Ali Hijazi was born at the Cottage Hospital in Freetown. Since his glorious school days, he has been an active basketball player, coach and President of WABBA (Western Area Basketball Association).
Many people in the sporting arena see his bid to become President of the Sierra Leone Basketball Federation as a move in the right direction and a watershed moment in the history of basketball in Sierra Leone. He is a businessman and sports enthusiast.
