The ECOWAS Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, has commended President Dr. Julius Maada Bio for granting permission to the former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, to travel out of the Sierra Leone on medical and health grounds.
A communiquรฉ issued by the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja on 20th January, 2024 states, โ€œECOWAS commends the humanitarian gesture that stands to serve the greater interest of Sierra Leone and the ECOWAS regionโ€.
โ€œECOWAS renews its commitment to supporting the government and the people of Sierra Leone in their efforts to foster peace and security as well as to deepen democracy and good governanceโ€.
