Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh paid glowing tributes to President Dr Julius Maada Bio for “making the Kono University of Science and Technology come to reality”.
VP Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh described the establishment of the Kono University of Science and Technology as a stepping stone for “the transformation of Kono district”.
The Hon. Vice President noted that, the establishment of the Kono University of Science and Technology was a fulfilment of President Bio’s manifesto promise to provide a university for Kono district and its environs.
VP Juldeh Jalloh described Kono district as “a melting point, drawing from its unique diversity. It is not only a cosmopolitan district, but a beacon of oneness and togetherness”.
Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh noted that, “When we were growing up here, we never had the benefits of the symbolism of a higher educational institution. Now you have it and I want to encourage the sons and daughters of this great district and region to make the maximum use of this university. It should also provide additional incentives for girls because it is closer to them and easily accessible”.
On a personal note, the Hon. Vice President said, “A son of a shop owner, born at the Koidu Government Hospital, went to the Islamic Primary School and later the Koidu Secondary School, is here today to preside over the matriculation ceremony of the Kono University of Science and Technology”. Showcasing the opportunities that University education can offer.
The Hon. Vice President was given a standing ovation after eloquently delivering his keynote address.
