A sudden fall in my bathroom in March 2024 resulted in an injury to the head. I arrived at the Choithram Memorial Hospital at Hill Station in Freetown on 30th March, 2024 feeling dizzy, vomiting and experiencing severe headache.

A CT-scan of the brain was ordered by Dr Mamadu Barrie, my personal physician. The CT-scan result revealed a subdural hemorrhage that required an emergency evacuation. Dr Mustapha Kabba came in handy. As a renowned surgeon specialist, he successfully carried out a procedure called Burr Hole Craniotomy.

I was later in May 2024 flown to the US and later the UK for further medical examination and treatment. Specialists in the US and the UK gave me the all-clear to return home.

The Sierra Leonean medicos’ show of professionalism was breathtaking. Dr Mustapha Kabba, Dr Mamadu Barrie, Dr Soccoh Kabia and Dr James Russell of Choithram Memorial Hospital fought very hard to save my life. I am grateful to them! I am back on my feet. Thank God for His grace!

In November 2024, We were able to secure a modern printing press for the Global Times Newspaper. It’s going to make our work lighter in the New Year. We have successfully installed it. A test run has proven successful. Two of my boys will be undergoing training to operate the printing press. That training will take place by the end of this month.

We organised our end of year carnival on 21st December, 2024 for our staff members, friends, and advertisers. We did that to appreciate their hard work, support and patronage. We appreciate the incredible generosity of our friends.

As we step into the New Year, I wish to use this first day of 2025 to extend profound thanks and appreciation to all those who have been very supportive of the Global Times Newspaper since it was established in April 2009. We appreciate you!

Happy New Year!
