A leading indigenous Sierra Leonean roads construction company, Pavi Fort-Al Associates (SL) Limited, is making Sierra Leone proud in the West Africa Sub-region by undertaking quality roads construction work in countries like Guinea (Conakry), Liberia, The Gambia and now Nigeria.
Over the weekend, Pavi Fort The Gambia (an associate of Pavi Fort-Al Associates (SL) Limited) received resounding accolades from the President of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow and other Gambian authorities including the Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure and the head of the National Roads Authority for the quality of work they have done in the Brufut community.
Pavi Fort The Gambia in 2022 bid for and won Lot 2 of the 50km urban roads project funded by OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) with headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Pavi Fort has almost successfully completed Lot 2 of the project which is 27.8 km in Brufut town near the city of Serrekunda.
After inaugurating the 50km urban roads on Saturday, 5th September 2026, President Adama Barrow addressed a mammoth gathering in Brufut town and openly praised Pavi Fort The Gambia for a job well done.
He said he was impressed with the professionalism exhibited by the company and promised to continue to have confidence in the companyโ€™s ability to do more construction work in The Gambia.
The Project Director, Ing. Joseph Raymond Sandy confirmed that 97.5% of the construction work has been completed. He added that they were now installing street lights and doing road signs.
Ing. Joseph Sandy told newsmen in Brufut that he was very pleased with the quality of work done by Pavi Fort The Gambia.
Mr. Alimu Barrie, the Chairman and CEO of Pavi Fort, praised His Excellency President Adama Barrow, the Government and People of The Gambia and the OIC leadership for the confidence reposed in his company to undertake such a major roads construction project in The Gambia.
Mr. Barrie thanked his staff for the professionalism they exhibited throughout the implementation of the project.
The head of the National Roads Authority in The Gambia praised Pavi Fort The Gambia for a job well done in the town of Brufut.
Community leaders and members of Brufut community thanked Mr. Alimu Barrie and his team in The Gambia for transforming their community into a bustling town with a good road network, bright street lights and an excellent drainage system.
Meanwhile, Pavi Fort The Gambia, based on their excellent performance in Brufut town, have been awarded another 100km of roads in the rural area of The Gambia.
Pavi Fort Al Associates are expected to sign another major contract in the Federal Republic of Nigeria this week.
The inauguration ceremony of the 50km urban roads project in The Gambia was witnessed by the Sierra Leone High Commissioner to The Gambia Madam Martha Kanagbo and the Director General of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority, the young and energetic Ing. Alfred Jalil Momodu.
