Information gathered by this newspaper has revealed that Mr. Amadu Bailor Bah, formerly of Koidu in the east region of Sierra Leone is now on the run fearing for the safety of his life after he was declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police on the accusation that he had been involved in subversive activities, incitement and conversation of cows to his own personal use and benefit.
The report further stated that sometime in 2015, some cattle owners entrusted some cows to his father, Pa Osman Bah, after they had been removed from the lands that they rented.
An elderly man who claimed to be a family member told this Reporter that as the eldest son, Amadu was in charge of the family ranch.
He further explained that over time Amadu’s younger brother, Sallieu Bah, was secretly stealing cows from the ranch and selling them.
He explained that problems started developing between Amadu’s father and his partners when they were told that some of the cows that they had entrusted to him had been stolen but promised to replace them. These partners became angry when Pa Bah continued making promises to them without replacing their cows.
The man further stated that when some of the partners realized that Amadu’s father was not going to give them back their cows they reported the matter to the Koidu Police Station.
They also reported the matter to some senior members of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), including the SLPP Member of Parliament, claiming that Pa Osman Bah was a very strong member of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) and he was saying very bad things about the Government and financially supporting the APC to remove the SLPP from power.
They even stated that Pa Osman Bah hosts secret night meetings of the APC at his ranch to plan how to remove the SLPP from power.
He further explained that late one night in August this year, 2018, Amadu’s ranch was attacked and all his cows were taken away. He also stated that few days later Amadu’s home was burnt down resulting in the death of his younger brother and female cousin while his father was captured and seriously beaten and detained at the Police Station while Amadu was able to escape.
He further explained that security officers and members of the SLPP continue to visit Amadu’s ranch and home telling people that he is wanted for subversive activities, incitement and conversation of cows to his personal use and benefit.
The elderly man further explained that since the day of the attack on the ranch, Amadu, his mother, younger step brother and his wife have neither been seen nor heard from while his father continues to be in detention.
When this Reporter contacted the Koidu Police Station on the matter, a senior Police Officer told him that they have received a complaint against one Mr. Amadu Bailor Bah, who is alleged to have been engaged in subversive activities and incitement against the Government as well as being accused of having ransacked a cattle ranch and stolen many cows as well as burnt down his house in which people died while he escaped.
He revealed that they have put a reward of twenty million Leones (Le 20,000,000.00) for anybody who will give them information that will lead to his arrest.
On the matter of Amadu’s father, he stated that they still have him in detention while they continue their investigations
