Information gathered by this newspaper has revealed that Mr. James George Kamara, formerly of 40 Steward Street in Freetown is now on the run fearing for the safety of his life after he was declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police as a person of interest in the death of an adult male, Mr. Alfred Coker, believed to have been his homosexual partner as well as for subversive activities and incitement against the Government of Sierra Leone.
The reports further stated that Mr. James George Kamara and Mr. Alfred Coker were for a long time suspected to be engaged in homosexual activities, a sexual activity that is not accepted in this country and which the community people considered as an abomination, insisting that those involved in such unnatural sexual activities must be destroyed in order to cleanse the land of such a curse.
A source who lives in the community told this Reporter that the young men and women in the community were only looking for an opportunity to get rid of James and Alfred and cleanse their land of what they referred to as, “this unforgivable abomination”.
He explained that on the night of March 5 this year 2023, some young men Waylaid James and Alfred captured them and subjected them to serious beatings which resulted in the death of Alfred while James managed to escape.
He also disclosed that James’s business establishment was attacked and vandalized and all his money and goods stolen while the building was burnt down.
He further explained that the Police immediately went into action and made a few arrests, while they issued a warrant of arrest for Mr. James George Kamara as the prime suspect in the murder of Mr. Alfred Coker as well as for being involved in subversive activities and incitement against the Government of Sierra Leone.
When this Reporter requested for him to lead him to Mr. James George Kamara for an interview, he stated that he did not know his whereabouts as since the night of the attacks, James had disappeared and he had neither been seen nor heard from.
He also disclosed that unidentified people continue to visit James’s house in the late night hours, making threatening remarks that they will kill him the day they see him, a threat that has caused James’s family to abandon their house.
When this Reporter contacted the Central Police Station on the matter, a senior Police Officer told him that they are looking for one Mr. James George Kamara who is alleged to have been engaged in subversive activities and incitement against the government, as well in the murder of one Mr. Alfred Coker.
He revealed that while they are investigating the matter while they have put a reward of twenty thousand New Leones (Le 20,00.00) for anybody who will give them information that will lead to the a
rrest of Mr. James George Kamara.
