Over 12,600 candidates are set to take the National Primary School Examination in Kenema district which will commence in the country on 28th May 2021.
This disclosure was made by the District Deputy Director of Education, Mrs. Agnes Kapu Kamara in an exclusive interview with the Global Times last week in her office in Kenema.
Mrs. Agnes Kapu Kamara disclosed that since she assumed office on 18th January this year as Deputy Director of Education, she has been engaging stakeholders in the Education sector, partners including Nacot among others interpreting the Education Policy to them saying that the people of Kenema are accommodating and ready to work with her to promote Education in that part of the country.
When asked how far she is preparing for this year’s NPSE, the Deputy Director of Education in Kenema district, Mrs. Agnes Kapu Kamara said she is well prepared stating that previously the district had 24 Centers but since the pronouncement of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio that every Chiefdom should have an examination center, they were able to add 10 new Centers making the number to 34 Centers with of 12, 600 candidates in Kenema district set for this year’s NPSE.
She revealed that those new Centers have been assigned to various Inspectors of Schools in the district and they have already informed the School leaders in the various Chiefdoms about the new Centers created by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education.
She informed that this time around the situation in the Ministry has improved as her office now has sixteen Inspectors of Schools as compared to one Inspector of Schools in Kenema Education Office including other auxiliary staffs that have been doing the job which have been increased to thirty staffs and each of those Centers are going to be manned by an Education Officer within the district during the exams.
She called on the Inspectors of Schools and examiners to know that examination malpractice is totally against the New Direction Administration policy and called on them to be very vigilant by not allowing leaked papers in the conduct of the exams.
