This newspaper has been reliably informed that Mr. Francis Tarawallie, formerly of Number 99 Hospital Road, Kissy Dock Yard, in the eastern part of Freetown, is now on the run, fearing for the safety of his life after he was declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police for alleged homosexual activities and for the alleged murder of one Mr. Alieu Koroma and other related offences.
The reports further stated that Francis’s troubles started when his community people suspected him to be having sexual activities with his fellow men, a sexual activity that is not accepted in this country and which the community people regard as an abomination, insisting that those men who are caught engaged in such unnatural and ungodly sexual practices must be killed in order to cleanse the land of such an unforgivable curse.
A source who lives in the community explained to this Reporter that for a very long time, the people had been looking for an opportunity to catch Francis in the sexual act so that they will have reason to attack him and beat him to death in order to cleanse the land of what they described as “this unforgivable abomination.”
He explained that luck ran out for Francis on the night of 5 September, 2025, when he was caught red-handed with one Mr. Alieu Koroma in a very sexually explicit position in his home.
He further explained that a large group of community people attacked them, subjected them to serious beatings and tortures, resulting in the death of Mr. Alieu Koroma while Francis managed to escape and disappeared from the community.
He further explained that on the following day, a large group of angry community people attacked Francis’s house which they completely vandalised and went away with properties and money worth hundreds of thousands of New Leones.
The source also revealed that Francis’s wife left him a few years ago because of his homosexual activities.
He also explained that it was close neighbours who escaped with their two young children, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The man further explained that the Police made a warrant of arrest for Mr. Francis Tarawallie and also declared him as a wanted man.
When this Reporter requested for him to lead him to Mr. Francis Tarawallie for an interview, he told him that he did not know his whereabouts as, since the night of the attack, Francis had disappeared from the community and he had neither been seen nor heard from.
He also stated that unidentified young men continue to visit the community, mostly during late in the night, asking for Francis and his family members, making threatening remarks that they will kill them the day they see them.
When this Reporter contacted the Kissy Dock Yard Police Station on the matter, a Police Officer told him that they were looking for one Mr. Francis Tarawallie for the alleged crimes of wounding with intent, sodomy, arson and murder.
He revealed that while they are investigating the matter, they are offering a reward of twenty thousand New Leones (NLe 20,000.00) to anybody who will give them information that will lead to his arrest
