The Police Regional Commander South, Andrew Mustapha Kamara, has assured the press that under his watch the drug menace will be greatly curtailed in Bo and the entire Southern Region.
His comment comes in the wake of a significant bust of drug traffickers in the region.
AIG Andrew Mustapha Kamara is supported by the no nonsense Local Unit Commanders of the Bo West Division and East Divisions CSP Augustine Kabia and CSP Foday Sesay.
The Southern Region Police Leadership has demonstrated a passionate result to clamp down on supply chain of narcotic that had sparked heightened public concerns in the region and Sierra Leone Liberia border.
There has been major arrests of huge consignment of narcotics including Kush, Tramadol and cocaine between the months of September and October .
The police leadership in the Southern Region has promised zero tolerance amidst challenges.
“We are fighting drugs because we feel personal as parents that they are destroying our children and damaging the reputation of the nation, AIG Kamara said in an exclusive interview with Journalists.
He is appealing to the public to support their efforts by providing credible information leading to drug supplies, traffickers and peddlers.
The Southern Regional Police Commander AIG Andrew Mustapha Kamara has promised to come out with realistic statistics of arrests made in recent times.
AIG Andrew Mustapha Kamara informed Journalists that on 23rd October, 2025, the NRA Custom officials headed by Mujiru Kallon Manager Customs Service Department in collaboration with the police made another significant crack down on a Guinean Woman, identified as Laurancia Kolie who was arrested with 91 parcels of narcotic substance suspected to be Cocaine at the Jendema Border crossing point.
AIG Andrew Mustapha Kamara further explained that, the suspected narcotic was discovered concealed among her personal effects during a thorough search by the officers.
He disclosed that both the suspect and the confiscated evidence have been taken to the CID Headquarters in Freetown for further investigation.
He told Journalists that his administration as the AIG South will leave no stone unturned in a bid to reduce or minimise the drugs deal in the region.
He noted that since he took over the mantle of leadership in the Southern Region as AIG, police operations have very been proactive.
