On Saturday, 31st January, 2026 the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party organized a mammoth meeting at the Atouga mini stadium in Freetown. The meeting was attended by several party members and supporters including flag bearer aspirants.
Unfortunately, the outcome of what was supposed to have been a peaceful party gathering turned out to be defined by or overshadowed by the profane and provocative statements made by the party’s National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya. His statements were provocative, unedifying and dangerous!
How can a man who calls himself a lawyer publicly describe a sitting President as a thief without providing any demonstrative evidence?
This is no longer politics. It is criminal! The CID should invite Lansana Dumbuya to clarify his statements for the avoidance of doubt.
Being National Secretary General of a major political party or any other smaller party for that matter does not exempt anyone from being subjected to the laws of the land.
Lansana Dumbuya is a very dangerous and despicable little man. He has the propensity to incite violence. His statements at the Atouga mini stadium were dangerous and unedifying.
The leadership of the APC should come out and condemn the statements made by their National Secretary General. The party’s credibility is at stake. The party should not condone such outrageous statements from any national officer.
Lansana Dumbuya should be made to publicly retract his profane statements and apologize to the nation.
It is very clear that some decent people in the APC would have felt embarrassed by the outrageous and unedifying statements made by their National Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya.
Lansana Dumbuya is a despicable and thoroughly unpleasant man. He lacks decency and decorum!
We are happy that the PPRC have imposed a stiff fine on the APC for the outrageous, despicable and dangerous statements made by Lansana Dumbuya and a lady calling herself Zainab Sheriff.
