During celebrations marking sixty eight years of Independence from France on 2nd October, 2026 the Government of Guinea extended an invitation to the Honorable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, to join the celebrations as a special guest. The presence of the Honorable Vice President was recognized by no less a person than the President of the Republic of Guinea, His Excellency President Gen. (Rtd) Mamadi Doumbouya.
The Hon. Vice President received an expression of deep affection from the Guinean leader with a brotherly handshake. He was also invited to a special cocktail organized by the President in Conakry.
During his brief stay in Conakry, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh met with the crรจme de la crรจme of the Guinean administration including the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament.
Dr. Juldeh Jalloh is not a stranger in Guinea. As Political Affairs Officer at UNOWAS (United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel) based in Dakar, he was intimately connected to the transition period in Guinea between 2009 and 2010 under Dadis Camara and later Shekuba Konate.
As the Sahel and Political Advisor at UNOWAS, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh worked in almost all West African and Sahel countries. That role enabled him to build a network of friends including businessmen and government officials in the entire West Africa sub-region.
Since he became Vice President in 2018, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh has continued to enjoy immense support from this group of friends some of whom have established thriving businesses in Sierra Leone.
His fluency in French and diplomatic experience have also helped him cultivate these special relationships.
This has no doubt made the Honourable Vice President as one of the most influential Sierra Leoneans in the sub-region and the continent as a whole.
